Google Talk not responding because of NIS 2010?

I was able to install Google Talk and use it only one time. Every time I try to start Google Talk this is the result:

Only after removing Norton Internet Security 2010 from my machine, was I able to use Google Talk. Removing Norton Internet Security 2010 also fixed all the problems I was having with the Flash Player. This is an excellent opportunity for me to try out Microsoft Security Essentials.
